Otto Piening - a leading manufacturer of ship propellers - was looking for a powerful coordinate measurment solution
for the measurement of ship propellers in manufacturing, research and development, for repairs as well as for reverse engineering
is highly portable, offers an accuray down to 30 microns
and measure "hidden" geometries of ship propellers that can hardly be reached by mechanical solutions. The size of the propellers is unlimited.
The customer tagged the propeller with self adhesive markers at the relevant positions. About 100 or more
photos of the object were taken and evaluated on site. The total measuring time is about 30min. Thanks to the integrated
CAD comparison function deviations can be detected immediately.
